Types of Ford F-150 Headlights

If there is any automobile that has immense reputation and popularity in the United States, F-150 is the only model of Ford which has made this accomplishment possible. It is a pickup truck which is a true combination of beauty, power and ability. For some people, it becomes difficult to understand the relationship between beauty and truck. F-150 is not like old and ugly monster trucks that were used for commercial transportation and other business use. Pickup trucks of these days tell a completely different story. They have strength, elegance and status associated with them. It is all achievable with the advancement in lighting technologies.
Earlier there were normal yellow colored incandescent bulbs that existed as car headlights. There were common lights for all models, and no further categorization exists for brands and their respective models. Now, there are several different lights available that are specifically made for Ford F-150 and well-known as F-150 headlights. Numerous stylish options available for this pickup truck are:
CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent light) Halo Projector headlights are positioned on the first place on the basis of users' preferences. These are bolt-on head lamps that produce more focused and sharp beam providing safety to the driver driving in the nighttime. The bulb is placed in front of an elliptical shaped reflector which reflects light towards a single focal point in the bulb front. There are CCFL Halo and bright LED lights that create real magic inside these head lights. These lights are accessible in black, smoked and chrome color options. These CCFL Halo Projector or normal Projector head lamps also come up with HID Xenon kits that give extra brightness by radiating higher, wider and farther light beam than the regular halogen lamps.
Halo LED Projector Headlights are also based on same internal chemistry as owned by CCFL Halo Projector head lamps, but the bulbs used in these lights are LED type. Light Emitting Diode (LED) based bulbs are energy-efficient and produce light with excellent brilliance as compared to other lights. When the HID Xenon kit is installed in the Halo LED Projector, it results in the formation of a new Ford F-150 head light, known as Halo LED Projector with HID Xenon kit.
Euro Headlights are another existing light type that encloses conventional parabolic type reflectors with unique style bulbs. The reflectors used in these lights are multi-faceted. These lights can also be explained as the projector headlights with HID, Halogen or LED bulbs. There might be Halos surrounding this head lamp along with LED running lamps and yellow or red side reflectors. Euro front lights give brilliant illumination and safety during the drive and make the vehicle appears exclusive. There are multiple color options existing in these front lamps. One can add HID kits to euro head lamps producing dazzling light without consuming much battery power.
LED Daytime Running Lights are the light forms that are associated with the headlights, but are used during the daytime. The purpose of these lights is to give protection to the driver during daytime. Here, LED bulbs are used in different shapes and sizes, decreasing the risk of accidents.
All these lighting assemblies are specially designed for the Ford F-150. A person can choose the most suitable light according to his F-150 model year and budget. Although the costs of all these front lights are genuine, but there is a bit variation in the pricing according to technology and specifications. Always prefer the one that best suits your F-150 model.

Car maintenance advice to avoid accidents

Taking care of your tyres is something that most people don't think about when they think about their vehicles. If you're one of those people who don't think about it, you might want to start reconsidering. Tyres can play a huge role in how well your vehicle operates and how well it stays maintained. If it doesn't stay well-maintained, you could easily end up with an accident. That could harm you, someone else, or both. There's no way to completely avoid accidents all of the time, but one of the best ways you can avoid them most of the time is by paying attention and taking care of your own things. Your tyres are what keep you anchored to the road. If you don't take good care of them how will you stay on that road safely? A tyre that isn't properly inflated and maintained can suddenly rupture, can go flat, and can give you a rough ride that might cause you to endanger other drivers. Tyres that are old and that the tread isn't good on can also be very slick in rain, ice, or snow. Sliding off the road or into other drivers is not uncommon. Make sure you take good care of your car and your tyres, and you'll be a lot safer out there with the other drivers.

Another big safety and maintenance concern for cars is the brakes. If you don't have good brakes and you need to stop quickly, you're much more likely to be involved in an accident. You and/or someone else could be serious hurt if that takes place, not to mention the damage to your vehicle and any other vehicles that you might hit. There is potential for a lot of pain, aggravation, and expense if you have poorly-maintained brakes on a car. Make sure that you get them checked out and that you take care of them as your mechanic or your owner's manual says you should. Try not to drive through large puddles and get your brakes too wet, either, because it can keep them from working well until they dry out. It's a risk, especially when the roads are already slick. If you haven't maintained your brakes well, they'll be much more likely to perform poorly if they get wet, so keep them changed at the proper intervals and inspect them regularly. It's another easy way to help keep yourself and others safe.

Does Water Car Technology Deliver Better Gas Mileage?

Water car technology? Really? Are you kidding me? Not at all. Sensible scientists and inventors have long known that energy can be extracted from water and can then be used as a supplementary fuel for ordinary cars and trucks. So what exactly is water car technology? And how does it work?
SURPRISINGLY, WATER CONTAINS SO MUCH ENERGY
The key to water car technology is tap water. Ordinary clean tap water. In high school chemistry, we learned that water (H2O) is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. The gas your car engine needs is Oxyhydrogen (HHO, also called Brown's Gas). When water is broken down by a process called electrolysis, the gas called Oxyhydrogen becomes available. There are guides you can get on the internet showing how to do this in a weekend with parts that are readily available and cheap.
A VERY QUICK PRIMER ON ELECTROLYSIS
Industrial plants have been using electrolysis for many years and the basic process is well known. In this case, the easy-to-install additions to your car engine will enable it to produce Oxyhydrogen gas (HHO) from water - right there in your vehicle, and safely. Thousands of drivers are now using water gas technology and reporting impressive boosts to their MPG. Up 25% all the way through to over 200% in one case I read about (follow the link at the end to read these astonishing testimonials).
WATER CAR TECHNOLOGY: THE BENEFITS ARE...
1) You use less petrol.
2) As a result, you produce less pollution.
3) Your fuel costs go down because water is cheaper than gasoline.
4) You save money.
In fact, as fuel prices continue to escalate, you save more and more. So do yourself a favor and acquaint yourself with the facts about water car engines through the links below.

Want to Become a Mechanic for Electric Cars? Some Trivia to Inspire

You are pursuing auto mechanic training with a niche in mind: you want to specialize in servicing the new breed of mass-market electric cars. Whether you work in a dealership or at your own garage, it will be in your best interest to learn as much as possible about the culture of electric cars. Your customers will see you as an expert on this rapidly changing sector. They may come to you for advice, for instance, on buying their next car. These kind of informal conversations about electric cars will help strengthen your relationship with your customer base, greatly increasing your marketability and employability after you become a mechanic. But what kind of information can you share with your customers? Here are some ideas of the kind of information - that may come up in your classes - that can be shared with future customers. Electric cars aren't new As you will no doubt learn during the course of your auto mechanic training, electricity has been used to power cars for over a century. Students at auto training schools around the world reacted in awe to news last spring that Porsche had built a replica of the world's first hybrid car, the Porsche Semper Vivus, which had been designed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1900. (Imagine, there wasn't any auto mechanic training back then!) It took graduates of auto training schools employed by Porsche several years to reconstruct this beauty, which used two conventionally powered combustion engines to generate electricity for its batteries. Plug-in time will vary depending on the voltage level of the charger Customers often consult mechanics on their next choice of car. As a graduate of auto mechanic training with a specialization in electric systems, you will need to familiarize yourself with the different charging times needed by different cars, depending on the voltage of the charger. An electrified Ford Focus, for example, can be charged in as little as three hours on a 240-volt Level 2 charger, but the process can extend to as long as 20 hours when using a much less powerful 120-volt charger. As you become a mechanic, you should read industry magazines and attend industry events to keep up with this type of crucial knowledge. The price range for electric cars is… Auto mechanic training won't teach you how to sell cars, but it is in your best interest to keep up with the changes in the market. Currently, fans of electric cars can spend as much as $845,000 on a top-of-the line model, e.g., the Porsche 918 Spyder, or as comparatively little as $21,000, e.g., the Mitsubishi I MiEV. Mid-range price might be considered around $30,000 (Nissan Leaf). Some people prefer to electrify existing vehicles rather than to buy new. Most of this information will probably come your way quite naturally as you become a mechanic specializing in the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles. But it can pay to keep your eyes and ears open to electric car information as you pursue your auto mechanic training. The more you know about your chosen field, the more your future customers will view you as a trusted resource. -- Visit the Canadian Automotive and Trucking Institute for more information on Auto mechanic training and to learn how to become a mechanic.

Cost-effective And Economical Green Car Technology

Even though hybrid cars would be the rage, and you will discover all types of option power resources within the horizon, hybrids are price prohibitive, usually ranging $3000 to $7000 a lot more compared to the fuel only model of that product. On the other hand, instead of changing fuel solutions, some car corporations have been employing a brand new variety of transmission to improve gas economic climate, reduced emissions, and truly make cars quicker with out including towards the sticker price tag.

These organizations are employing a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and as opposed to obtaining arranged gear ratios (or gears), it regularly differs the equipment ratios, also as engine performance, so that they each run at their most efficient level in any driving situation.

Due to the fact these key components of your power practice are at their peak efficiency at all times, gasoline economy is improved by 6-8% and carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by 10%.

Although these figures may possibly not seem spectacular, the gasoline cost savings enhance the highway mileage of most vehicles by 4 to 6 mpg, which adds up quite swiftly at $3/gallon.

The CVT's prospective for lowering emissions is also important. As Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan Motor Company, stated, attaining his goal of selling one million CVT equipped cars by the finish of 2007 can have "the same effect when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions as promoting 200,000 hybrid electrical cars."

Given that there is certainly no shifting between fixed gears, there's no 'shift shock' or jerking sensation, which makes them exceptionally smooth to push. CVTs also do nicely in hilly terrain given that there's no 'gear hunting' or bogging down on the hill, followed by a loud, violent downshift, which also contributes to its outstanding acceleration.

You could be questioning why this isn't in just about every automobile if it truly is so fantastic. Nicely, every single yr, far more vehicles in the American market add CVTs as an solution, though it has occurred quietly, as many people are leery of new technology, especially in cars.

The CVT is actually really old despite the fact that it truly is new to American automobiles. The concept was developed by Leonardo DaVinci and was initial patented in the late 1800's for industrial programs. The CVT continues to be utilized in Asian and European vehicles considering the fact that the 1950's, but till lately CVTs couldn't manage the power that American motorists need from their automobiles. Nevertheless, CVTs have observed widespread use in snowmobiles and Formula 500 racing where they have a repute for extending engine existence and getting considerably a lot easier to rebuild than either a manual or automated phase transmission.

So exactly where can you test push a CVT-equipped automobile? Effectively it is possible to visit dealerships selling Ford, Dodge, Audi, or Mini-Cooper, to title a number of, though a Nissan dealership could be the most effective location to go. To be able to hit their objective of one million CVT revenue in 2007, they have installed CVTs in almost each and every sedan within their lineup, which includes the ideal promoting Altima, Maxima, and affordable Versa (as being an aspect be aware, Nissan has also created aspect curtain airbags normal in these designs, enhancing security and lowering insurance costs).

Though chances are you'll not have the spending budget for a hybrid car or cannot watch for that miracle fuel to hit the market, you'll be able to take it uncomplicated on the atmosphere, too as your checkbook, by testing a handful of automobiles with a CVT.

Future Trends In Car Technology

At present, technology has been advancing at a rate that can be described as almost biblical and the best thing about it is that as it advances it takes everyone in its stride. Therefore, as technology improves it brings improvement in the automobile industry as well. Car technology has entered a whole new world and every year something different and new takes us by surprise. Many products related to car technology have been unveiled but are yet to strike the marketplace and this chapter discusses some of these proposed ideas which will have petrol heads glued to their monitors.

Humans unlike their electronic counterparts are imperfect and because of that they are not as much of conservative even as the world faces an acute shortage of renewable resources. For example, while driving we would simply leave the air conditioner on and roll up the windows even when we could do the opposite and save a significant amount of fuel.

Recent technological innovations have introduced in cars the "Economy mode". This feature allows the car itself to decide what features are important at any moment in time and then simply turns off the features that it deems not essential. This not only saves fuel but also ensures longevity and durability of the vehicle. This feature has been tested in many hybrid cars and has been extremely successful.

Then there is the concept of the black box technology for cars on the cards. The idea is simple, if airplanes can have them so can cars. Black boxes have proven to be extremely useful in recovering information from airplanes in cases of mishaps. However, its concept is being debated still as it allows the car owners privacy to be compromised. At present general motors' is using them in their newer models and has renamed them to "recorders" as it stores data on the speed, distance travelled and the visited places. This also helps amongst others, insurance companies who can use the data in case an accident occurs.

Then there's the more interesting feature that allows a car to park for its owners. Cars with such features have been produced already and are being marketed successfully, all the owner has to do is press the brake pedal and the car will carefully avoid all obstacles, make itself parallel and then come to a halt.

Lastly and perhaps the most predictable of all car technologies involves cars driving themselves, this is now possible thanks to the recent advances in robotics and GPS technologies. All you will have to do is tell the car where you want to go and the car will take care of the rest. A lot research to perfect this technology is underway and it may not be very long before human drivers become a thing of the past.

After looking at some of these features one can say these are indeed interesting times as cars are evolving with changes in technology and may soon change the very shape of cars as we know them today. -- Brian is a freelance tech writer and avid screenwriter who works with a lot of cool gadgets and technology. How to Avoid Winter Driving Accidents

Driving in the sleet and snow can be extremely dangerous. Everyone knows that harsh weather conditions drastically increase your chances for an accident. So how do you stay safe in the winter, when the weather is unpredictable? Maintenance - Car maintenance may sound like a simple solution, but it can be one of the best ways to stay safe this winter season. Maintaining your breaks and tires can make a huge difference when you need to react in a split second. Not only do larger, more obvious systems need to be checked, but even smaller functions, like your defrost and windshield wipers should be examined. It may not seem like a major fix, but frosted or foggy windows can impair your sight, making driving in the snow much more dangerous. Slow down - When in doubt behind the wheel, slow down. Driving just 5-10 mph under the posted speed can give you more time to react in an emergency. Did you know that you are twice as likely to kill someone you hit as at 35 mph than you would be at 30mph? Slowing down in the snow or a snow storm also helps your car's tire traction, making it easier to avoid hydroplaning. Slowing down also saves on gas mileage, so there's really no excuse not to. Don't Rush - Isn't that the same as not speeding? Rushing and speeding are two very different things, but they tend to go hand-in-hand. Rushing around creates a sense of urgency and fluster. It's been proven that rushing can increase your chances for a crash. It's not worth the risk, driving a few mph extra to get somewhere will drastically increase your chance for an accident and will only get you somewhere a couple minutes faster. It's not worth the risk, call if you plan on being late and take your time. If it's something important like a job interview or a business meeting, then leave 10-15 minutes early and bring a book in case you're there before everyone else. Check Weather Conditions - It's always important to check your local weather conditions. Knowing and understanding the severity of your surrounding weather conditions can have a huge impact on your safety. Some snow storms are so dangerous, news channels and authorities will recommend staying home. Calling off work or keeping the kids home from school is more important than risking your lives on the road. The greatest car gadgets known to man

<

Earlier this month, some whizz-kids at the University of Washington and the University of California in San Diego produced a report into the future of car technology which got us interested. According to Karl Koscher and his 10-strong research team, soon our cars will no longer be "mere mechanical devices" but will also contain "a myriad of computers". Whether you think this is good or bad news will likely depend on your attitude to technology, but rest assured - it's likely to be some time before the world is overtaken by Transformers.

We've all become used to managing a wide range of gadgets all in one go, many of which we couldn't possibly imagine living without. So here are our favourites...

1. SatNav

Probably the greatest aid to drivers since the invention of the A to Z, the Satnav is now a must for many of us. Yes, they're irritating. Yes, the voices might give you nightmares - even (or especially) if it's Bob Dylan - but once you've got one, you won't be able to imagine your life without it. Promise.

2. In-car security

If your car's broken into, an in-car safe will keep your most treasured possessions safe and prevent making a bad situation even worse. Of course it may be a better idea not to leave valuables there in the first place.

3. Hands-free parking

Many of us hate parallel parking, although perhaps not as many as you might think. In fact, an ex-girlfriend of mine enjoyed it so much she used to go out and practice in her spare time. At least that's what she told me she was doing.

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that Lexus' RX400h and the super-green Toyota Prius both do it all for you, no hands required. Pointless? Probably. Cool? Most definitely.

4. Hands-free talking

It's good to talk, apparently. I don't see the attraction myself, but it's certainly much safer and far less irritating for everyone else on the road when you chat with a hands-free kit. Plus it's not illegal.
Research suggests that you're four times more likely to have a crash when using a handheld phone, so it's not just a claim on your car insurance you could be saving by going hands-free.

5. Music

Ok, it isn't a gadget per se, but stay with us on this one. Steaming down the M1 wouldn't be the same without your stereo pounding to the sound of Susan Boyle... er, I mean Bruce Springsteen. So congrats are in order to the inventors of the in-car radio *woop!*, cassette player *hooray!*, CD player *yippee* and, now, the iPod cradle *O joyous day!* - all of which have allowed us to jig away behind the wheel to our heart's content. In an entirely safe and appropriate manner, of course.

6. Voice-recognition technology

Now featured in motors such as the Microsoft-controlled Fiat 500, voice activation could well be a big part of the future of motoring. But be warned: many voice-controlled cars will also read your text messages out loud, which could make things interesting if your parents are in the car.

7. Run your car on cooking oil

Different Types Of Tires And Their Functions

A car is an essential part of our daily routine and most of the individuals using it often keep a check on its performance. The most important thing to be considered in a car is its wheels and tires. These are an important part of the car that acts as a link between the car and the road. The tire to be installed in the car mainly depends on the type of road in your particular area. The two main types of tires include fabric and rubber. However, there are several other manufacturers that use different chemical mixtures to manufacture the tire.
There are different types of tires manufactured by different companies each one of which is manufactured with a particular purpose. Different vehicles have different requirements and hence it is necessary that you select the right tire for your car. Finding an ideal tire for your vehicle is an essential requirement to enhance its overall performance.
Different types of tires
There are different types of tires in the market. Some of them are as follows.
All season
These tires can be seen in countries which have two seasons, summers and winters. In these countries, the seasons keep on changing and hence the basic necessity of the individuals living there is to have all season tires. It makes life easier for them. However, these tires might deliver great performance in one season while average performance in the other.
Snow
These tires are specifically designed so that the drivers can easily drive on the snow and cope up with the slippery roads in a safe manner. These tires have an extra traction and a good number of grooves arranged in a tread pattern. These extra grooves are made in order to have a strong grip on the slick surfaces. Snow tires also comprise of metal studs which is an effective way to enhance the traction in icy situations. These tires have ratings on them like M+S or M&S which can be used to determine the type and quality of the tire.
Mud
Muddy areas are also slippery like snow tires and hence they are also designed similar to snow tires. The extra grooves and the tread patterns of the tire are effective in clearing the road by trapping the mud. These are generally wider in comparison to the normal tires.
High Performance
These types of tires are specially designed for sports and racing cars. These tires are designed with softer rubber as compared to normal tires. The higher softness ensures more traction control and hence efficiency and greater performance. These tires have thin treads which provide better contact to the road and therefore good performance.
So, these are some common types of tires which are available in the market and you can purchase any one of them according to your needs and preferences. Knowing the composition and the purpose of a specific tire will help you to a great extent in getting the right type of type for your car which is highly durable and offers outstanding performance.

Technology Marvel - Remote Car Locking

The advancement in car technology led to the invention of keyless entry remotes that interact with the vehicle by transmitting radio waves. Remote key is the mechanism that not only makes car handling convenient for you but keeps the car safe as well.
Gone are the days when one had to manually lock car doors to ensure safety. Automation and modern day technology makes it possible for us to ensure safety of our cars with the touch of a button. Introduced in early 1980s by American Motors and popularized by General Motors on their Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac model of cars, the remote keyless entry or power door lock is a portable device that has the ability to lock or unlock cars from a distance without any physical contact.
The remote keyless is generally designed to include a remote entry system and an ignition system. Broadcasting radio waves on a particular frequency is the mode of operation of remote keyless. The frequency used by these remotes in North America is generally 315 Megahertz and 433.92 Megahertz for Asian and European cars. The remote keyless generally has an inbuilt encryption in order to ensure the radio waves are not hacked into by miscreants. Pressing of the button on the remote results in flashing of the lights of the car to indicate transmission of signal through radio waves. The flashing of lights of the car is generally accompanied with a sound like a beep. Some cars also have the remote linked to the horn of the car and thus use the sound of the horn to indicate locking of the car.
The number of beeps generally signifies the action performed. Locking of the car is usually denoted by a single long beep and unlocking is denoted by two beeps. Some cars also have a mechanism to lock or unlock only the driver's door while leaving the passenger's doors locked. The remote locking mechanism is also sometimes linked to windows and thus windows of cars also automatically close on being locked through the remote mechanism. The remote mechanism along with locking the car also sets an alarm which gets triggered if anybody tries to forcibly open the doors of the car. It thus keeps the car safe and secure even while you are away.
The remote locking mechanism can also be linked to other utilities like garage doors to automate opening of the garage door. Each model of car has a remote specifically designed for it. These are generally available at local automotive dealers. Automotive keyless remote can also be explored and bought online as per the model specifications of your car. Also replacements of the remote car locking system can be bought in case you lose your present remote.

Alternative Fuel And Vehicle Technologies

INTRODUCTION
In today's world, scientists, analysts, and engineers are continually looking to find effective fuel solution not only to minimize cost but also to reduce greenhouse gas emission. Though there is a substantial research that has been in progress, on existing fuel. However, there are massive differences between natural and alternative source of fuel, in terms of environmental benefit and cost.
Ethanol has great potential as it is blended with agricultural products and most of the current vehicles support ethanol. On the contrary, LPG is directly derived from natural gas and it increases sustainability within the environment. However, with the new hybrid technology, electric vehicle more widely expand sustainability to the environment by ensuring '0' carbon emission.
In most of the developing countries like, USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, the electric vehicle is becoming popular because of environmental concern and cost of energy. This hybrid technology increases battery storage capacity; as a result it's getting an optimum solution for transport mode. The lithium composite phosphate (LCP) is a rechargeable battery which uses LiFePO4 as cathode material and mostly used in portable items like cell phone, camera and laptops and this raised a significant attention on transportation applications, including electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), fuel cell vehicles, and electric bikes in Asia. Thus, most of the auto maker companies declare new model of electric vehicle in 2010-2012 as well as establish a new platform for electric vehicle to generate a market.
ALTERNATIVE FUEL FOR VEHICLES
Major fuels for vehicles in Australia are petrol, diesel, natural gas (i.e. LPG) and the consumption rate varies due to the nature of the vehicles, cost and travel.
Ethanol
In Australia, most of the vehicles run by ethanol but yet nobody knows how ethanol can affect their vehicles. A recent figure shows, 30 percent of Australian vehicles will be affected by 10 percent of ethanol. The main agriculture products used to produce ethanol in Australia are wheat, wheat starch, sugarcane and sorghum. However, the main advantage of using ethanol is organic and major disadvantage, it burns quickly. Currently, there are four types of ethanol available, worldwide, such as E10, E85, E22 and E100 where in Australia E10 and E85 are available and others are still in consideration.
E10 in Australia
After 1st of July 2003, 10 percent ethanol mix was allowed with normal petrol and blending higher than 10 percent require engine modification as it was identified that using E20 with 20 percent mix creates problems in unmodified engines.
Problems of E10 (E-10 Ethanol Fuel Problems, n.d)
1. Ethanol 10 damages vehicle engine and carburetor.
2. Water above 5 percent cause serious damage on the vehicle's performance.
3. Water freezing in winter causes serious effect on performance.
E85 in Australia
E85 is suitable for flex fuel vehicles and currently only Caltex is selling it in around 40 retail stores (Monitoring of the Australian petroleum industry, 2011). Though E85 is very environmentally suitable to reduce CO2 but it is not suitable for all engines as it may damage the fuel system.
Problems of E85
1. It burns quickly compared to other petrol.
2. Decreases a vehicle's millage per gallon by 15 to 25 percent compared with other gasoline because modern vehicles do not burn it efficiently (Shaffer, 2012).
3. E85 cost less but in terms of performance when comparing prices with regular petrol, the purchase price becomes same as per km.
CURRENT POLICY OF ETHANOL IN NSW
According to NSW government 2 percent mandate policy for ethanol, wholesalers require to make up to the minimum 2 percent of total volume of NSW sales (Graham, Reedman, Poldy, 2008).
POTENTIAL ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE FOR ETHANOL
The main advantage of the new policy is to purchase new cars which can run by ethanol i.e. E10 and E85. Besides, as the sustainability issue is a major concern in Australia, it is an ideal solution to use ethanol to minimize gas emission from the environment. On the contrary, though ethanol is an environmentally friendly fuel but yet there is inadequate availability of ethanol in different places. The reason behind, as ethanol mainly based on agriculture products and production cost is really high in Australia. Thus, farmers as well as many farms will not encourage producing crops. Besides, there is no government subsidy available yet for such action.
COMPARISON OF COST AND CARBON EMISSION BETWEEN E10 AND E85
Cost of E10
The price of E10 is very sensitive in different petrol stations in Australia because most of the petrol companies in Australia have independent freedom to fix the price in accordance with standard fuel quality Australia. Besides, factors like location, demand and quality also major issue to determine the price.
Carbon emission rate E10
Not much difference to regular petrol, E10 only save 5 percent of gas emissions and the full cycle emission (t CO2-e/kL) is 2.44 compared to 2.56 to regular petrol.

Cost of E85
Currently, only a few places and in few petrol stations are providing E85 fuels, so it is a bit difficult for consumers to switch to E85. Generally, the price ranges in different petrol stations approximately 124 to 135.
Carbon emission rate E85
In comparison to other fuel E85 has a lower rate of emission of greenhouse. Generally, in 15,000 miles per year, 372 grams/mile (approx) CO2 per vehicle can possibly be reduced. On the basis of CO2 emission grams/million Btu only 0.2 percent is different from regular gasoline i.e. 76,289 & 76,477 respectively (Timpe, Aulich, 2005).
LPG IN AUSTRALIA
LPG is the combination of 50 percent propane and 50 percent butane and western Australia has the largest reserve of this natural gas (What is LPG? 2011). LPG powered vehicles produce less CO2 to the environment travelled to 203 gm CO20e/km and according to the RARE consulting; using LPG instead of regular petrol may reduce 13-14 percent carbon dioxide emission from the environment (Wong, 2011). In Australia, due the huge demand of energy requirements, LPG could be an alternative solution for vehicles, industrial or household use in coming years.
CURRENT POLICY OF LPG IN NSW
According to LPG Australia, current policy, "LPG industry will support government to ensure sustainability as well as future energy sources to reduce carbon and ensuring LPG achieve a level of capability to support government's alternative fuel requirement; LPG market will require transitional support to achieve 10 percent of transport energy requirements"(LPG Australia policy, 2010).
POTENTIAL ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE FOR LPG
Using LPG in a vehicle not only match with current policy but again assuring to provide alternative solutions for fuel in most affordable price. More precisely speaking, LPG burns clearly in the air and it is 60 percent cheaper than other petrol as well as increasing engine life which provide significant benefit not only in purchasing but also future affordability to purchase vehicles. On the contrary, the potential disadvantage could be converting cost i.e. approximately between AUD 2000-2500 as well as maintenance cost of engine parts is really high. Besides, in terms of performance compared to fuel driven vehicle, is very low and high risk is involved to install LPG cylinder in all vehicles because of size, design and shape.
COST AND CARBON EMISSION COMPARISON OF LPG
Cost of LPG
Australia has vast reserves of LPG, so the supply of LPG is adequate for next 30-50 years. Thus, the price of LPG is lower compared to other fuels. The reason could be varied but people still intended to use petrol to their vehicles instead of using LPG. The annual average price of LPG is 54.5c.

Carbon emission rate of LPG
In Australia, theof rate carbon emissions to other types of fuel is relatively higher than LPG. According to the department of sustainability, environment, water, population and communities in Australia, in every litre of petrol used in the vehicle, 2.3 kg CO2 are released into the air (Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, 2008).
CO2 Tailpipe Emissions/Liter of Fuel Consumed
Fuel Type CO2- Emissions
Petrol -2.3 kg
LPG -1.6 kg
Diesel -2.7 kg

BATTERY EVs
Battery EVs is the ultimate way out for zero emission in the environment without any doubt. It is being evident that, battery EVs are twice efficient than normal petrol driven vehicles and mainly because the battery is more effective as it uses renewable energy sources. In 2006 Australia, greenhouse gas emission was 576 million tonnes and of this 89 percent generated from road transport. Thus, using this new hybrid technology can reduce emission in transport sector.
CURRENT POLICY FOR BATTERY EVs IN NSW
Carbon emission Policy: NSW government is currently introducing the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) which provide a limit to the business or industry of polluting air and strong incentive require paying to buy pollution permits (Feeney, 2009) which currently defined as 'Carbon Tax'. This policy is contradictory and controversial within the government body. Currently, many business holders, industry are protesting against this policy and as a matter of fact, this policy is still under consideration.
POTENTIAL ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Potential advantages of this policy are to eliminate harmful pollution from the environment. Besides, as the oil prices increases due to the demand worldwide, it would be the optimum solution for business growth. On the contrary, insufficient infrastructure, plant, station causes huge impact when travelling to long distance with battery powered electric vehicle. This means, a fully battery powered vehicle can travel up to 160 km and after that if there is no station to recharge the battery then it will be a serious matter of concern. Besides, in terms of cost to purchase electric vehicle, it is beyond common people's limit.
COST AND CARBON EMISSION COMPARISON OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Cost of electric vehicle
To charge the battery of an electric vehicle, costs only 1-3c per kilometre depending on location and demand.
Carbon emission rate of electric vehicle
Electric vehicle can produce 27 percent (i.e. 164 g/km) less CO2 than petrol vehicle (Better place, 2011). Besides, recharging from the national average grid, carbon emission rate is 0.9 Mt CO2-e is 24 percent vehicle and 3.8 Mt CO2-e recharging from 100 percent solar power.
CONCLUSION
It is evident that from above analysis of ethanol, LPG and electric vehicle will provide sufficient benefit but after comparing various factors and investigate different current issues, we can saythat the purchasing of LPG vehicle will be totally solved. The reason behind is lower emission rate, cheap cost and availability of resources. If it has to be considered, ethanol and electric vehicle which require government support, changing existing infrastructure, implementing new plant will involve a large amount of capital investment. In recent news, shows carbon reduction through electric vehicle isa mere 'fantasy and also stated electric vehicle produce higher emission than petrol becauseof the energy consumedin manufacturing batteries. Besides, switching to EVs requires 16 percent extra electric capacity which is equivalent to 10GW or six nuclear stations (Jha, 2010). Therefore, considering the above facts, purchasing an LPG vehicle will be most beneficial.

Modern Water Fueled Cars

What Is a Water Fueled Car?
Water fueled cars are one of the byproducts of the race to bring to the market vehicles using stored onboard hydrogen as fuel. Using hydrogen as fuel is one of, and perhaps best, the solutions presented by NASA's effort to develop alternative fuel sources beginning back in the 1960s. Using hydrogen gas in conjunction with an oxidizer, like a oxygen or nitrous oxide, produces incredible motive energy. In addition to the incredible energy produced, emissions are brought down to zero. It both is produced from and returns to water, meaning that we could never run out of it even if we tried. It is easy to see that if we could harness the power safely, it would be the solution we've all been looking for too many of the great ecological dangers we face today.
Water fueled cars are often thought a hoax. Indeed there's enough precedent for it if you look back at the history of the concept. We're going to describe some of the challenges of bringing water fueled cars into production all over the world, and explain the theory and practice behind the current, modern water fueled cars that run on the streets of cities all over the world. Yes they do exist, although probably not the way you think.
When knowing how hydrogen is produced, through the electrolysis of water, the challenges of and inspirations for water powered cars can be easily understood. When realizing how much motive force can be attained using hydrogen and oxygen and the incredible benefits of zero greenhouse gas emissions, coupled with the dangers of using high-pressure hydrogen storage in a vehicle, a water fueled car becomes an inspirational idea. If it were possible we could change the world tomorrow and never fear global warming again.
The rub comes when hydrogen is both produced and used by the same powerplant. Unfortunately, thanks to those pesky laws of thermodynamics, it takes similar amounts of energy to separate hydrogen and oxygen as is produced when it's recombined. There's very little more to it than, you can't really produce and use hydrogen in the same engine. It's too bad, but stored onboard hydrogen as fuel, with all the safety, development and infrastructure challenges that that comes with is the only solution for the future.
But that's not the end of the story. In the development process of water fueled car, one intermediate step was the use of a hybridized engine that utilized both hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis and regular gasoline or diesel. This engine design produced incredible increases in engine efficiency. Far more than could be explained by current efficiency models of the internal combustion engine. These results caused some manufacturers to jump the gun and announced to the world that they could build a water fueled car. One company even signed government contracts to produce Hummers for the Army. But it was not to be. As it turns out, the air used in modern engines which is the same as the air we breathe, consists mostly of nitrogen, an inert gas. There is just not enough oxygen in the air to properly burn the fuel we use today. When hydrogen and oxygen is piped into the engine in higher percentages fuel efficiency, power and responsiveness are all increased. The results can be more than a little dramatic. 76% on most vehicles, up to 200% on some, and even higher on vehicles that operate at higher altitudes where the air is thinner to begin with.
These modern, real water fueled cars would be more aptly named fuel enhanced cars. Technology is not complicated and it's available to everybody today. For less than 200 bucks a do-it-yourselfer can have this technology in less than a day's work. For everybody else, it's a little more expensive but well worth it. But be careful not every company is equal in the water fueled car world. You should expect to never be asked to modify or damage in any way any engine component. This means do not drill any holes in your engine or modify any parts. The electrolysis unit should sit next to your engine somewhere in the output should be piped directly into your existing air intake without ever needing a whole to be drill, or an engine component to be modified. There are companies out there that understand this necessity and will not risk voiding your warranty.

How Do You Know If You're a Safe Driver?

We're always hearing about car insurance companies offering cheaper policies to safe drivers, but what exactly is a 'safe driver?' Whilst the methods for assessing driver risk may vary from company to company, there are some factors that most insurers agree define this exact term.
Accident History
The first and most obvious way to determine whether or not someone is a safe driver is based on how many accidents they have had. If you have been driving for 15 years and have never had to claim for an accident that was your fault, you are going to be considered a low risk. However, if you have only been driving a few years and have made a number of claims already, it's safe to say that your premiums will be higher rather than lower.
Credit Rating
Believe it or not, many car insurance companies will incorporate your credit rating when making a decision as to whether or not you are a safe driver. The reasoning behind this is because it's thought that maintaining financial stability shows that not only are you reliable, but also that you can afford the cost of regular maintenance which means you're less likely to cause an accident because of mechanical failure.
Mileage
How often you drive your car has a massive impact on the total amount you pay for your insurance. If you are on the road all day, every day, your chances of having an accident massively increase. However, if you drive very little then the likelihood of being involved in a crash is minimal and you are therefore more likely to be classed as a safe driver.
Insurance
We all know it's tempting to take out the lowest priced policy possible in a bid to save money - especially if your driving history is fairly uneventful. However, when obtaining quotes from car insurance companies, this can actually come back to haunt you. It is assumed that safe drivers will make sure that they are always fully covered should an accident occur. When a new company looks over your past insurance coverage, if they can see that you were responsible about carrying adequate cover, they are more likely to class you as a safe driver.
Location
Another surprising factor that contributes to whether or not you are classed as a safe driver is where you live. Every postcode in the UK is risk assessed based on their crime and claim statistics which means that this can have quite a substantial effect on your insurance premium - even if you are a very safe driver in every other respect.
Your Car
Do you drive a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport that can reach speeds of up to 267 mph or a nice little Volvo V40 that recorded the highest ever score in the Euro NCAP crash safety test last year? It's unlikely that you drive either but the point is that trying to insure a super fast sports car is going to be much more costly than insuring a practical vehicle full of safety features that can minimise your chances of having an accident.
Different makes and models of cars have different safety ratings, and therefore the vehicle you drive can have a massive impact on whether or not you will be classed as a safe driver.
Whilst there are undeniably external factors - mainly other road users - that can affect whether or not you will benefit from being classed as a safe driver by car insurance companies the above points can all help to dramatically improve the likelihood of this happening.
Chaucer Direct is one of the most significant auto insurance companies in the UK, Chaucer aims to provide safe drivers with the lowest insurance prices and the best service in the business.
